Weather in Nea Peramos | "O Germanos" - a citizen of Hamburg in Nea Peramos?Harry Krickemeyer from Hamburg in Germany lives since the 1980ies in Nea Peramos nearby Kavala in Greece, advanced in the interim to an inextricable part of the local community and is generally well known as "O Germanos "(the German). Of course his all season opened tavern became also a meeting point for German emigrants, businessmen and holiday makers, but it never loosed the character of a typical Greek tavern. The paradigmic service, the friendly team, the rich assortment of Greek and German specialties and daily altered menu, the well sorted beverages and of course the German draught beer are standing well with native guests as wells as holiday makers. So it is nearly unimaginable to be in the area of Nea Peramos without jumping in at least on a "small talk" with Harry in the tavern O Germanos. However, be warned: many hasty visitors forgot here their time: -) PS: Behind big men usually stands a woman … and behind Harry his wife Elsa! She understands to surprise their guest again and again with tasty specialties. However, no more information will be given here, as there would be no surprise any longer :-) By the way: of course Harry owns a (pretty fast!) powerboat, as this is a must for every "real child of Hamburg" ... . | | Personal data Harry Krickemeyer comes from Hamburg in Germany. After getting his diplomas and working for some years as certificated electrician, he changed to the gastronomy branch. O Germanos In the 1980ies Harry Krickemeyer moved to Greece and settled down in Nea Peramos nearby Kavala. First he named his restaurant "Hamburg Kogge". However, as nearly everyone never referred to the "Kogge" but only to "the German" (or in Greek: o Germanos), the tavern was renamed to "O Germanos" and then - because of the relocation in autumn 2006 - to "The German's Castle". The Tavern Greek people say that " ... any taken obstacle brings you nearer to the goal". Despite the fact that there a lot of obstacles had to be surpassed, the "German's tavern" quickly got well known all over the surrounding and represents today such a thing like a "institution": whoever not visited the tavern "O Germanos" also not visited Nea Peramos … :-) |
