Weather in Nea Peramos  | How to go to Nea Peramos nearby Kavala in GreeceNea Peramos can be reached very easy via the new national road Thessalonica - Kavala, part of the "Egnatia Road". The nearest airport is "Alexander the Great" (Kavala / Chrysoupolis). Despite the fact that Nea Peramos can be reached by busses via Kavala, it is recommended to hire a taxicabs. Likewise it is possible to travel by bus from Thessalonica's airport to Nea Peramos (ca. 170 km), however also in this case most travelers prefer to hire a cab.  The passage from Kavala to Prinos (Thassos island) with ferry boats (persons, cars, cargo) takes approx. 1 hour or approx. 20 minutes with hovercraft (only persons and luggage). Thassos can be reached as well via the port of Keramoti: from here the passage with ferry to the homonym capital of Thassos island takes only approx. 20 minutes. Note: the intermediately discontinued popular line between Nea Peramos and Prinos (Thassos island) came into operation again in summer 2006! How to find the tavern "O Germanos" in Nea Peramos The tavern "O Germanos" is located approx. 50 m below the car park partially visible at the left bottom side of the picture below. The access road from Egnatia road to the village's centre is located at the picture's right side.  Reaching via the new Egnatia road Thessalonica - Kavala  You can't miss the traffic lights on the national road outside of Nea Peramos. Turn there to Nea Peramos und follow the narrow county road with some curves in first part, passing field with grapes. After about 2,5 km at the village's edge you will be stopped by STOP-sign. Turn right to the village's center and go straight on. After about 1 km you will be stopped again by sign. Turn right into the sea sided road and go straight on about 500 m, until you will meet the beginning line of houses on the left hand. Approx. 50 m from here you will see on the left hand the tavern's entry front as shown on the photo at the bottom.  Reaching via the old national road from Kavala The old road will lead you directly on the seaside promenade in the center of Nea Peramos. With sea on left, don't turn anywhere and go straight on.  Passing various shops, stores, taverns, pavilions etc., after approx 2 km you will meet the beginning line of houses on the left hand. Approx. 50 m from here you will see on the left hand the tavern's entry front as shown below. Take a seat and relax :-)

The village of Nea Peramos also can be reached with overland busses (KTEL, Thessalonica - Kavala). Note: the overland bus tickets (KTEL) actually cost approx. 8,5 Cents per kilometer (summer 2005). Personal luggage is free.
Railroad connection The nearest railroad stations at the route connecting Thessalonica with Alexandroupolis are located in Drama (ca. 50 km) and Xanthi (ca. 70 km). Ferry connections Since spring of 2005 the line between Nea Peramos and Prinos opened again. The next harbor is located in the centre of the town of Kavala. From here can be reached the island of Thassos by frequently shuttled ferries and hovercrafts as well as numerous other Aegean islands. As the new national road goes around Kavala, the Thassos Island is also reachable quickly via the port of Keramoti.  |
